本州から記載された。枯れ木の樹皮下に生息するが、採集例は少ない。P. bicolorに似るが、からだが一様に暗褐色で、腿節も褐色であることで区別できる。食菌性。

This species was described from Honshu. It lives under the bark of dead trees but is uncommonly collected. It resembles P. bicolor but can be distinguished by its uniformly dark brown body and largely brown femora. Fungus-feeder.
